A Message for Students

Twelve simple gifts represent twelve reminders worth carrying with you.

There is a book called “Twelve Gifts for Students,” written by a mother who accompanied her son during his time at an elementary school in the United States. The book describes how, on the first day of school, the boy came home carrying a brown paper bag. His teacher had given the same kind of bag to every student in the class. Inside were twelve items, each carrying a symbolic message. The twelve gifts and their meanings were as follows:

It is a touching message, isn’t it? As a learning mentor, I hope that I can be like a Life Savor and be there whenever students encounter difficulties with coursework or learning, providing the support they need.
