IEET Technology Accreditation (TAC)
To strengthen international alignment, the Department applied for IEET Technology Accreditation in Academic Year 2013–2014. An IEET Technology Accreditation Task Force was established on March 12, 2014. The Department subsequently underwent an on-site IEET accreditation review on November 10–11, 2014, and successfully received IEET Technology Accreditation on April 14, 2015 .

What Is Accreditation?
Outcomes-Based Education
IEET accreditation is a non-governmental peer-review mechanism that adopts an outcomes-based approach centered on student learning outcomes. Its purpose is to ensure the educational quality of an academic program by examining the results of student development and learning. Programs participate voluntarily in this periodic review process to demonstrate their continued compliance with IEET accreditation criteria.
Core Principles and Objectives
IEET accreditation is not intended for comparison or ranking. Instead, it verifies that an academic program can continuously achieve its self-defined educational objectives and that its graduates possess the core competencies required by the profession. More broadly, IEET encourages program-based quality assurance and continuous improvement through the accreditation process.
Scope of Accreditation
Engineering and Technology Education Accreditation applies to degree-granting programs at Ministry of Education-recognized universities, universities of science and technology, institutes of technology, and junior colleges in Taiwan that award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees. Since 2004, IEET has promoted accreditation in Engineering Education (EAC), Computing Education (CAC), Technology Education (TAC), Architectural Education (AAC), and Design Education (DAC).
Accreditation Cycle and Review
IEET accreditation operates on a six-year cycle . Reviews are divided into two types: periodic review and interim review. A periodic review is a comprehensive evaluation conducted once every six years, while an interim review is a targeted follow-up review conducted within the same accreditation cycle based on the accreditation results.
