LED Smart Virtual Production Studio

The Department has introduced the latest virtual production systems and integrated ChatGPT and the Stable Diffusion deep-learning generative model to strengthen interdisciplinary applications in the metaverse and cultivate communication professionals who can keep pace with emerging technologies. As Asia University continues to advance AI-enabled learning environments, the Department of Information Communication has further enhanced its technology-based communication curriculum by launching a Smart LED Light Corridor, expanding the functions of the traditional virtual studio, and introducing the HTC VIVE Mars CamTrack virtual production system. These facilities provide students with a more comprehensive environment for experimentation and hands-on practice.

A101 LED Video Wall Studio + VIVE Mars CamTrack Virtual Production System

Building on the Department’s existing AR/VR foundation in an AI-enabled learning environment, the studio incorporates the HTC VIVE Mars CamTrack system for virtual production. Future applications will extend to communication technologies such as glasses-free 3D, floating projection, and interactive advertising. Combined with deep-learning generative models, these technologies can reduce the high production costs associated with physical shooting locations. Students learn to build 3D models and use IP-based synchronization to coordinate lighting and motion data across three or more cameras, enabling scenes that were previously difficult or impossible to capture to be freely created and changed within virtual environments.

H606 Digital Audio-Visual Engineering Laboratory

The virtual studio is the Department’s largest film and television production laboratory. It includes a standard studio space, essential lighting and audio equipment, and advanced software for virtual environments, supporting instructional needs in conventional film and television production as well as AR/VR applications. In addition to serving scheduled courses, the laboratory is also used to produce major university-wide audiovisual programs, providing students with a comprehensive hands-on learning environment.
